T20 World cup 2014: Yuvraj and Ashwin shine as India thrash Australia

India continued their dream run in the ICC World T20 as they pounded a listless Australia by a whopping 73-run margin to emerge group 2 champions with an all-win record.

Yuvraj (60) and Ashwin (4/11) laid the foundation for India's comfortable win as they bundled out Australia for 86 after making 159/7.

Australia won the toss and elected to field first. Put into bat, India scored 159 for seven with Yuvraj Singh showing glimpses of his destructive self with an innings of 60. On a slow track, Yuvraj initially struggled before blasting four sixes and five boundaries in a 43-ball knock.

Ravichandran Ashwin has been named the Man of the Match.

Australia were slogging absolutely each and everything and shockingly collapsed for a mere 86, their second lowest ever total in T20Is. They have nothing substantial to take back home and will now look to win their dead-rubber match against Bangladesh.

India are going through to the semifinals, playing 4, winning 4 and remain the only team to do so far.

Australia, meanwhile, lost both the Group 2 games they have played so far against Pakistan and West Indies, which put them out of the race for the semi-finals.
