World Cup 2019, India sets 315 runs target for Bangladesh

In today’s ICC cricket world cup 2019, India squandered a great opportunity as despite a solid 180-run opening stand they were restricted to 314/9 by Bangladesh at Edgbaston on Tuesday. Electing to bat Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul gave India a terrific start as India were hoping for a 350 pus total. But like in the previous occasions, India’s middle-order again failed to impress. Mustafizur Rahman was the start of the day for Bangladesh as he ended with a five-wicket haul.

Rohit Sharma slammed his fourth century of the tournament and became only the 2nd batsman after Sri Lankan batting legend Kumar Sangakkara to score 4 hundred in a single edition of the World Cup.

This is Rohit’s fifth World Cup century overall and he is now tied with legends like Ricky Ponting and Sangakkara in the second spot with only Sachin Tendulkar ahead of him with 6 World Cup tons.

Earlier, Indian skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Dinesh Karthik have replaced Kuldeep Yadav and Kedar Jadhav in the Indian squad. Bangladesh have also made two changes bringing in Rubel Hossain and Sabbir Rahman in place of Mehidy Hasan and Mahmudullah.
