India have qualified for the World Twenty20 semi-finals after defeating hosts Bangladesh by eight wickets with nine balls remaining in Dhaka.
India, who won the toss and elected to field, started strongly by dismissing Tamim Iqbal (6), Shamsur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan (1) inside the first five overs. Bangladesh had been restricted to 138-7 in their 20 overs, leg-spinner Amit Mishra (3-26) again impressing. Anamul Haque (44) and Mahmudullah (33) offered the only real resistance.
Virat Kohli (57) and Rohit Sharma (56) shared in a second-wicket partnership of 100 to ensure a third successive Group Two win with nine balls to spare.
India never qualified for the semis in the last three editions of the tournament after winning it in 2007.
